Ocean County, and there is only one Ocean County in the nation, lives up to its name with the barrier
Seaside peninsula, 20 miles long, and Long Beach Island, another 20 miles long, bordering the
Atlantic Ocean, one-third of the marvelous Jersey Shore. Long Beach Island truly is an island,
about four miles at sea, but you can drive to it. Together they form the Barnegat and Little
Egg Harbors, which provide more than 100 square miles of sheltered water playland offering
parasailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, sailboating, jet skiing, motor boating and the docks
make great places to crab.
