BUSINESS LEADER

Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari presents Emil Kaunitz, president of Speciality Systems, Toms River with a citation marking the system and software development firm's 's 30th anniversary. Vicari said, noting the recognition was as much for Kaunitz's leadership and contributions to the community as it was to mark the anniversary, "Emil understands the value of 'giving back.' He serves on the Ocean County's Workforce Investment Board, and is chairman of the Ocean County College Trustee Search Committee, a board member of the Jersey Shore Boy Scouts of America and a past director of the Toms River-Ocean County Chamber of Commerce." Kaunitz, who was a volunteer panelist on the recent program Vicari sponsored, "Doing Business with the Military," was on the Save Lakehurst Base Committee which was largely responsible for saving Naval Air Warfare Center at Lakehurst from closure in 1995. He has been chairperson of the Friends of Navy Lakehurst since 1995, has served as the Lakehurst representative on the Governor’s Commission to Support and Enhance New Jersey’s Military and Coast Guard Installations and is on the Governor’s Council on Armed Forces and Veterans’ Affairs.
