Responding to the sluggish economy, Ocean County Freeholder Director Joe Vicari, right, hosted a workshop to inform local business people about the intricacies of doing business with county government and other public bodies. He is pictured with Ralph B. Patterson, director of Management and Budget/Purchasing who coordinated the event. Anyone who missed the session can request a copy of the workbook which shows how to register on the county's bid portal and other on-line resources available along with a copy of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law. Copies are available by calling 732-929-2099. Vicari has been spearheading efforts to help local businesses by encouraging the public to do their holiday shopping locally and also sponsoring a workshop last month on "Doing Business with the Military
