FREEHOLDER DIRECTOR JOSEPH H. VICARI TO INTRODUCE GOV. CORZINE AT TUESDAY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT SURVIVORS DAY
OCEAN COUNTY Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari will join Gov. Jon Corzine in honoring the surviving families
of slain law enforcement officers in Seaside Heights on Tuesday, July 15.
“It is a great honor for me to meet with the many families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty,” Vicari
said. “While I can never fully understand their pain, I can pay tribute to their bravery.”
The Storino Family, owners of Jenkinson’s Breakwater Beach Waterpark and the Casino Pier have invited dozens of
law enforcement survivors for a free day of fun at the beach.
Family members will receive free access to the water park and rides on the pier.
“While we will never forget the tragic circumstances that brought us all together, this day is a day of fun for
everyone in beautiful Ocean County,” Vicari said.
Vicari, who will introduce the governor, will join with other elected and law enforcement officials in honoring
those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
“I want to personally thank the Storino Family for opening up their exciting parks to the families,” Vicari said.
“This will be a day to remember the good times all of these families shared with their brave sons and daughters, brothers
and sisters and mothers and fathers. I hope everyone can enjoy the day knowing their loved ones helped make our state a
better and safer place for all of us.”
Each family will also receive a complimentary $50 arcade card and food will be provided at the Dockside Café in
the water park.
So far, families of more than two-dozen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty are expected to attend
the daylong event.
