SAFE DRIVING CLASSES NOW OFFERED IN THE EVENING
A COMPREHENSIVE defensive driving course that can lead to fewer Motor Vehicle points and a car insurance discount
is now offered in the evening, Ocean County Freeholder John P. Kelly announced.
“There’s been a great demand for this course so we’ve expanded the hours to include several evening sessions,”
Kelly said.
The eight-hour course will be held over two evenings, Tuesday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 30 from 6 p.m.
to 10 p.m. at Community Medical Center’s Family Center, 591 Lakehurst Road, Toms River.
The cost of the entire course is $8 payable only by check or money order made out to the County of Ocean.
For the two-point Motor Vehicle reduction, and additional payment of $10, payable by money order only, must be
made out to the New Jersey State Safety Council.
“This is an excellent opportunity for drivers to improve their safety skills,” Kelly said. “The two-point
reduction and insurance savings are further incentives to take this important class.”
Many insurance companies offer a 5 percent discount for customers who complete the course.
Kelly said students should contact their insurance companies for more information.
Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari said additional defensive driving course are scheduled for morning hours
through October.
